Run For The Silent
Run + Fight Human Trafficking (Raise Money + Awareness) = RUN FOR THE SILENT
Join us June 7, 2009 for the North Olympic Discovery Marathon/Half-Marathon.
We will be running with "For the Silent" (check them out at www.forthesilent.org/actions/run).
Email Erika (erika@mosaic-seattle.org) to let her know you'd like to run and join up with the group running "for the silent."
Then register for the race: go to www.nodm.com.
The goal is for each runner to raise $500 in sponsorships. The money will be given to Hagar International--a non-profit working against human trafficking in Cambodia (www.hagarcambodia.org). The funds raised for this specific run will go toward purchasing a vehicle for Hagar. This van will provide necessary transportation for girls recovering from human trafficking (to go to school, doctor's visits, job interviews, etc).

international christian conference on prostitution
just an update: we need to register for the conference and buy plane tickets soon. i am also sending out an e-mail reminder. i am setting a deadline of next monday, july 28, for registering with the group of students for housing, and buying plane tickets together. if you're interested, please e-mail me at lacie.morrison@gmail.com. if you decide you want to make arrangements on your own, that's fine too. just be aware that in terms of housing costs, the more people that register together, the more affordable it will be.
here's a link to the conference center, and to the conference info:
